Join us on Thursday, March 28th, at 6 PM to hear from railroad expert Mr. Christopher Schulte! He will speak on the early history, modern design, manufacturing, and application of "T" rails. Admission is only $5, and the event will take place in our Visitor Center. Attend for an evening of education and hear from a certified Railroad Safety Specialist!
Lake Metroparks Farmpark Rebuild is on Saturday May 11, 2024. NOGRS members will level track, trim bushes, and other general maintenance to get the outdoor display ready for the 2024 season. Lunch will be provided. Please bring any maintenance tools appropriate for the project.
Pollinators are pulling into the station at the Holden Arboretum this summer! Get ready to be inspired by an imaginative world of miniature trains and larger-than-life botanical sculptures. The exhibit features G-scale model trains chugging through a landscape of iconic sculptures that depict unique plants from around the globe, paired with the insects and animals they depend on for pollination. Exhibit included with general admission – tickets will be available for advance purchase online beginning in May. More Pollinator Express Info to come!

Mulberry Creek Herb Farm will be bustling with activities on May 25, 2024. NOGRS members will help rebuild/re-freshen the outdoor railroad for starters. Mark will have a gardening presentation again this year; last year’s air layering (rooting) presentation was successful I’m told. Finally we will have a short meeting after our potluck lunch. Karen will be making Chili as the main course, so keep this in mind when signing up with your side dish or dessert.

During Train Days at Lake Metroparks Farmpark NOGRS Members talk about trains and share their experiences of the hobby to the visitors at the park. An Information Flyer on NOGRS will be available to hand out to the public. Lunch is FREE and will be served to all volunteers. The time is 10am to 3pm on both June 1st and June 2nd. Please specify which day(s) you can attend in the “Comment” box when signing up. This is a great promotional event for our hobby, so please help the cause.
Blue Tip Festival Speeder Rides will be assisted by NOGRS members by ticketing passengers, directing passengers to their Speeder, road crossing guard, and other possible duties. The Speeder Rides are Friday Evening 4pm to 7pm and Saturday 10am to 5pm. Please specify which day(s) you can attend in the “Comment” box when signing up. We need your help to make this event successful and pleasurable to the public. You may get a Speeder Ride in return. Please either bring your own lunch or purchase one nearby (Water Main Grille recommended) for this event. The Speeder Rides start at the gravel parking lot between the tracks and Retro Bar n Grille.

The NOGRS August Meeting will be held at the home of Rick & Celeste Korenz. Everyone will enjoy seeing this large beautiful railroad. A pot luck lunch will be served so please sign-up and bring your favorite side dish or dessert.
John & Rebecca Riedel will host the September NOGRS Club Meeting. We will have a potluck lunch for the day so sign-up with your favorite side dish or dessert to bring.

The Lake Metroparks Farmpark Build Dates are:
Saturday & Sunday 11/16/24 & 11/17/24 9am to 4pm

Lunches will be provided. The Display will run from November 29th to December 27th; Closed on Mondays. Please support our club and sign-up to build this wonderful display.
Our 2024 NOGRS Christmas Dinner will consist of a Main Course of Chicken Fingers and a Pot Luck of whatever tasty treats the members decide to bring.
The Lake Metroparks Farmpark Christmas Display will be Taken Down Saturday December 28, 2024 starting at 9 am. Lunch will be on our own for this event. We need your help again. Please sign up for this Train Wrecking Event.

The World's Greatest Hobby on Tour will be in Cleveland on March 23 and 24, 2024. Details should be available on their website soon.
Allen Nickels has been awarded a space (20 x 26) in the I-X Center, Cleveland, Ohio. Allen will build a Steam Train Display and will need help in setting it up and work with him the days it is open to the public and then help take the display down. This show will be good publicity for NOGRS Train Club. We need your help. Volunteers will be needed on 3 days and 4 time slots.

Saturday March 23rd Prepare for show 8:am to 10:am. Show runs from 10:am to 5:pm for the public.
Sunday March 24th Prepare for show 9:am to 10:am. Show runs from 10:am to 4:pm for the public.
Sunday evening from 4:pm to 11:pm, take down the display. (Should take about an hour)

The first Medina Model Train & Toy Show of 2022 will be held on Sunday, February 6th. The show hours will be Sunday 9 AM -3 PM. Admission is $7 under 12 is free. Parking is free and lunch is available.
There will be modern and antique toys, train gauges of all sizes and supplies for your hobby needs. All this for your viewing or purchasing pleasure! You will see some changes at the show but it will still be the great Medina Model Railroad & Toy Show you are accustom to enjoying. Bring your child or grandchild to the show and make a memory! Allow them time to enjoy the working layouts.
